Wendy had been feeling quite stressed out lately and started to &#8220;medicate&#8221; herself by having two or three shots of whisky every evening after she tucked her children into bed. After about ten months of this drinking routine, she eventually understood the fact that rather than helping her calm down and ”manage” her problems, drinking made her feel less rested when she awakened. This, in turn, made her feel more tense throughout the day.</p>
<p>After thinking about her &#8220;condition&#8221; for a few weeks, Wendy decided to discuss her problem drinking with her best friend. Indeed, approximately five minutes into their conversation, Wendy’s friend, Cara, mentioned that she knew about a very skillful and competent psychiatrist at the local drug and alcohol rehab center. After talking to her friend, Wendy almost instantly got motivated  to call the rehabilitation center and schedule an appointment.</p>
<p>Seven days later she eventually got to meet the psychiatrist her friend had talked about. After their short introduction, Wendy explained to the physician that ever since she and her ex-husband got divorced, she has been having an extremely difficult time financially, psychologically, and spiritually.</p>
<p>At times, she felt that the divorce was behind her. Recently, though, she has been feeling extremely depressed about the fact that she and her former husband couldn&#8217;t &#8220;make it&#8221;. When asked by the physician how long she and her former husband dated before they got married, Wendy told the doctor that she and her ex-husband dated for five years and then lived together for three-and-a-half years before they got married.</p>
<p>As Wendy was talking to the physician, she emphasized the point that she truthfully thought that they waited long enough to know one another well enough before they got married. After the children started to arrive, however, their relationship seemed to get worse. Moreover, both she and Robert began to drink, and their hazardous and careless drinking negatively affected their finances, their love for one another, and their relationship.</p>
<p>When things became dysfunctional between them, Robert got a lawyer and filed for a divorce. Even though things were noticeably not going well and although she was often depressed, Wendy told the doctor that she did not want to bring an end to their relationship. Once she received her divorce papers, however, she knew that their relationship was over.</p>
<p>The psychiatrist explained to Wendy that the tension, stress, and anxiety that she has been suffering from regarding her hazardous and careless drinking are some of the common <a target="_blank" href="http://www.alcohol-test-info.com/Alcohol_Abuse_Issues.html">alcohol abuse effects</a> and that the best solution for this state of affairs is rehab for one&#8217;s alcohol abuse. <p>After ten or eleven therapy sessions with her physician, Wendy was little by little able to understand that the real cause of her stress and her depression was that she had not gotten to the bottom of her nasty feelings she has for her former husband who had divorced her two-and-a-half years ago. With these insights and with the drugs her psychiatrist prescribed, she eventually stopped drinking, she started to feel substantially less depressed, and she started making time for social events with her family and friends. A few months after getting therapy from her doctor, she even started to date once again.</p>
<p>It was obvious that Wendy had come a long way. In truth, just about nine months after she completed her counseling, Wendy had finally laid the depressing thoughts of Robert, her ex-husband, to rest and was starting to feel better about herself and more spiritually &#8220;sound&#8221; and psychologically “together” than she had ever felt in her life.</p>

There will be about at least a half an hour of exercise routines that will guide you as you follow along at home. They aren&#8217;t all made the same way, however, as these DVDs come from different fitness-promoting companies who have completely different styles of teaching methods.</p>
<p>There are so many different fitness instructors that you will find when you pop the DVD in. There will be male instructors, female instructors, group instructors&#8211;all with different styles and personalities that show through the TV. It is definitely a wide assortment that ranges from a pleasant-sounding woman with plenty of positive feedback on your appearance to a no-frills-sounding man with nothing but tough love for your last 60 seconds of intense ab crunches.</p>
<p>It will be up to you on what you will consider to be a good work out DVD. Some instructors will make you feel at ease, or they will make you feel very pushed, and that is up to you on what you prefer! They will be all doing this from a staged set-up, whether it is a brightly-lit studio floor space or a dimly-lit industrial powerhouse gym.</p>
<p>Most likely, there will be a group of other men and women alongside and behind the fitness instructor following the work out moves. This is to show you that you are not alone as you exercise in your home fitness center.</p>
<p>While these men and women are following the instructor, they are also varying the movements (the instructor should be pointing this out). The movements will range from an easy adjustment (for people with joint issues), to a very difficult variation (for people who want to push themselves even harder).</p>
<p>You will find that in some work out DVDs, no one is sweating whatsoever. They aren&#8217;t even glowing. In other work out programs, you will see those people drenched in sweat all over their clothes. Again, this will be a matter of preference for you, and it will be a matter of what the director and producer want you (as the exercising customer) to see.</p>
<p>The beauty of purchasing a work out DVD (or two, or three!) is that the return of investment is far greater than purchasing a gym membership. The more you use the DVD, the cheaper it will have cost you to use it! This is different than the cost of a gym, where you have put down a far larger payment and continue to make monthly payments afterwards.</p>
<p>The added benefit to having a collection of different work out DVDs is that you can change the exercise up whenever you want! You can use the ab work out DVD of one program with a cardio DVD of another. Or, you can make a complete hybrid of two fitness programs to take your body to the next level of results.</p>

<p>Many of the basic techniques are very easy to do and with practice they only improve your healthy outlook. The breathing technique is one of the simplest forms to learn. Begin with an extremely quiet location when you have a comfortable place to sit or lie down. With eyes closed concentrate on how you are breathing. Do this for approximately ten minutes and there will be an almost immediate calmness.</p>
<p>Practicing deep breathing exercises everyday is an excellent way to improve your concentration, mind health and can be physically beneficial as well. Breath in very deeply through your nose and breath out slowly from your mouth. Continue these exercises for approximately five minutes the first day and increase daily until you are doing the exercise for a full thirty minutes.</p>
<p>Another simple beginning technique is to focus on the flame of a candle. This must also be completed in a quiet area and in a comfortable position. Concentrate fully on the flame and when things come into your mind, take small breaths and release the thoughts. It is necessary to be completely shut off from interferences and apply all thoughts to the flame of the candle.</p>
<p>Soon you will be open to learning new techniques and forms. Each session will leave you with a calm feeling. A more experience form is to focus on nothing, meaning let your mind be free of thoughts. Sit alone in the quiet and think about nothing. If you feel your mind staring to wander simply breathe and let the thoughts leave your mind.</p>
